The Wee Bush Inn was owned for a long time by the Walkinshaw family. Between 1860 and 1868 the proprietor was Robert Walkinshaw, who was world champion quoiter, winning the competition by 85 shots to 55. He played challengers from all over Great Britain, including a match with George Graham of London for £100 a side, and Robert's son and grandson (both called Jimmy) each won the World Championship in due course.
