The owl on the chimney! A barn owl; the straw owl in the bar is called Ollie, after Oliver Reed. Note that the chimney pot is the same one as in the turn-of-the-century photograph.

At the other end of the building from the bar, the snug has a collection of Wee Bush, Robert Burns and Carnwath memorabilia on the walls.

The original heather thatch was still under the tin roof when Mrs Wilson took over the Wee Bush in 1986. This shows the tin cladding being removed at the start of the rebuild in the winter of 1987.

The old roof timbers had to come down to be replaced during the winter rebuild. The Wee Bush had been known as the "Hen's Balks" in the 19th century because the chickens used to roost in these rafters!
